A Perth food production operator had a production problem that looked simple on the surface. Their commercial ovens were not cooking to temperature consistently. The site was in Como, and the timing mattered: production runs do not pause while you chase a fault.
What Was Happening
The ovens were not reaching or holding the temperatures needed for consistent production output. The issue traced back to firmware that had fallen behind a required update, combined with door seals that had deteriorated enough to affect cooking performance. Neither fault on its own would have been unusual. Together, they were affecting every production run through those ovens.
How It Was Handled
The technician coordinated the visit around active production. Staff needed to complete a cooking run first, and the job waited on that. Once clear, the firmware was updated to the current release and all operating parameters were reset and confirmed. Both door seals and the catch tray were replaced from stock carried on site. The update was verified successful before the technician left.
The Result
The ovens were returned to full production performance with verified temperature consistency. The operator received complete documentation covering the firmware update, parameter configuration, and parts replaced, all recorded against the asset.
Why PEMS
The job was planned around the operator's production schedule, not the other way around. Parts were carried to site, the firmware update was confirmed before sign-off, and the full service record was documented against the asset from day one.
