Almost always an element failing to earth. This is the element breaking down through oil or moisture ingress. Do not keep resetting the RCD — the element needs replacement. Operating a fryer with a faulty element creates a fire risk.
Either a failed element, failed thermostat or tripped hi-limit. The hi-limit is a manual-reset safety device — if it has tripped, there's a reason. We find the cause before resetting it.
Usually a worn igniter, dirty burner port or failed thermocouple. The thermocouple keeps the gas valve open once it detects a flame — when it fails, the valve closes and the burner won't stay lit.
