A Perth food production facility runs a Technobake tunnel oven supplying a major supermarket in Aveley. When a rotation fault was logged, keeping the line down was not an option.
What Was Happening
The oven had flagged a rotation fault on one side. The first visit found everything mechanically sound at that point, the cook cycle was still running and a full diagnostic had to wait until the line was clear. That patience mattered. Running diagnostics on an active production cycle produces unreliable data. The fault was confirmed through proper sequencing, not shortcuts.
A separate finding also came out of that visit: the exhaust canopy was not connected to the oven. That is a compliance and ventilation issue with nothing to do with the rotation fault, and the store was advised to follow up with their facilities contact.
How It Was Handled
Parts were ordered based on the diagnostic findings. On the return visit, the technician isolated the oven, pulled it forward, replaced the chain and sensor, and regreased the chain. The oven was tested in full before being returned to service. No recent rotation faults appeared in the logs post-repair.
The Result
The oven returned to full production. The fault history was clear. The operator received a documented record of both the rotation repair and the unrelated canopy finding, giving their facilities team a clear action trail for follow-up.
Why PEMS
The canopy finding had nothing to do with the job raised. PEMS documented it anyway. Operators running production facilities need a contractor that reports what is actually on site, not just what was on the work order.
Commercial kitchens and production lines in Perth rarely fail for one reason at a time. A service assessment with PEMS gives operators a clear picture of what is running, what is flagged, and what needs follow-up before the next fault. Contact PEMS on 08 7095 3550 or visit pemservices.com.au.
PEMS provides specialist commercial food equipment repair across Perth and WA.
