A commercial kitchen shutdown is never good news, but for Betty's Burgers in Mandurah, a series of heating failures across their deep fryers threatened to take the busy burger joint offline entirely. With gas flow failures and burners cutting out unexpectedly, the kitchen needed fast, reliable intervention.
The Fault
The PEMS team identified two separate issues working against the kitchen. The Anets fryers were experiencing heat failure with no gas flow through the units. The root cause traced back to faulty rollout switches, safety devices designed to cut burner operation if overheating is detected. On inspection, the switches were triggering at around 220 degrees Celsius, shutting down the burners prematurely and halting production.
The Repair
PEMS technician Tore attended the Mandurah site and carried out a staged repair across multiple visits. During the initial call, the faulty rollout switch was bypassed temporarily to restore operation while a replacement was sourced and ordered. On the return visit in March 2026, three new rollout switches were supplied and installed across the deep fryers. All cables were reconnected properly and each unit was tested and confirmed operational before the technician left the site.
The Outcome
With three rollout switches installed and the Anets fryers tested and running correctly, Betty's Burgers Mandurah had their commercial kitchen back at full capacity. Gas flow was restored and the burners held temperature without unwanted cutouts.
