Opening paragraph:
A supermarket deli in Currambine had a rotisserie chicken cooker running so loud that staff could not hear customers at the counter. The unit was a double-chamber roast runner. It was in the deli preparation area, running through peak trading hours. Getting it wrong was not an option for a high-footfall retail site.
What Was Happening
The noise was coming from the rotating shaft assembly inside the unit. It had deteriorated to the point where normal conversation on the shop floor was impossible when the oven was running. The site had to choose between disabling a chamber and losing capacity, or operating with a unit that was impacting the customer experience every hour it ran. Neither option was acceptable.
How It Was Handled
PEMS attended the site, diagnosed the fault, and identified that the shaft and motor assembly required fabrication alongside replacement parts. Parts were ordered and the return visit was scheduled. On the day of the full repair, the oven was moved, the shaft assembly was stripped, all ordered parts were installed, and the unit was cleaned down and fully tested through a complete cook cycle. The site received a confirmed operational outcome before the technician left.
The Result
The oven was fully operational with no faults recorded on test. Both chambers were back in service. The site received complete documentation covering diagnosis, parts, the repair, and the operational test result.
