Opening paragraph:
The Continental Bar and Bistro in Baldivis had a new dishwasher waiting to go in and an old unit that needed to come out. For a busy food and beverage operation, the window between removal and a fully commissioned replacement running clean is exactly when service pressure builds. Getting the transition right the first time mattered.
What Was Happening
The site was running an ageing Electrolux dishwasher that had reached end of service. A replacement Moffat unit had been sourced and was ready for installation. When the new unit arrived on site, a manufacturing defect was identified during commissioning. Left unresolved, it would have meant the machine could not run properly from day one.
How It Was Handled
PEMS technician Mason completed the full removal of the old unit and installed the replacement. When the defect was identified, PEMS contacted Moffat directly and carried out the rectification work in agreement with the owner, with Moffat covering the relevant cost under warranty. The charge was removed from the operator's invoice and redirected to the manufacturer. Once the issue was resolved, the unit was tested and the site manager was shown how to operate it correctly before the job was closed.
The Result
The Continental Bar and Bistro ended the job with a fully operational dishwasher, a clean handover, and no unexpected cost from the manufacturing fault. The warranty coordination was handled without the operator needing to chase it.
Why PEMS
Identifying a defect during installation and managing the warranty claim directly with the manufacturer is the kind of step that protects operators from costs they should never have carried. PEMS handled it within the same job, without a second visit.
